On January 1, 2023, the SEER2 product regulations will be in full effect and the “old” 14 SEER will be replaced by the “new” 15 SEER, with a new required rating of 14.3 SEER2 as the required minimum rating.

This government mandate requires air conditioning manufacturers to change their testing and rating procedures. Which, in turn, will create costly equipment redesign, and bring an increase in the cost of equipment in 2023 and beyond.
